To volunteer as a coach for the Spirit, please fill out and mail (through the US Postal Service to preserve confidentiality) the Wisconsin Ice Spirit coaching application (click on link above to print).  Please mail your completed application and a copy of your drivers license to -

Volunteer Screening Program

The Wisconsin Ice Spirit Girls Hockey Association is a member in good standing of Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA), an affiliate of USA Hockey.  USA Hockey requires a police background check for all volunteers who work directly with children - including, but not limited to, coaches, assistant coaches, trainers and team managers.

If you are new, or your name is not on the list, please fill out the form on WAHA's website (Screening Form).  The Ice Spirit will reimburse you for your clinic fee upon approval by WAHA Hockey.  Please contact Dave Witting at dwitting@wahahockey.com with any questions regarding this process.

All Coaches Must Be USA Hockey Certified for their team's age and skill level

Wisconsin Ice Spirit coaches will be reimbursed for the cost of coaching certification clinics upon submission of the original clinic receipt issued by the CAPS director to the Association.

House level (and Travel - 10 and Under) – Level 1 Coaching Certification
12 and Under – Level 2 Coaching Certification
14 and Under – Level 3 Coaching Certification
16 and Under – Level 3 Coaching Certification
